Job description
About Lola Blankets
Lola Blankets is an expanding, design-led company known for creating highly desirable faux-fur blankets. Backed by a loyal audience, strong creator/influencer visibility, and fast-paced growth, the brand is reshaping how comfort and style come together in home products.
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly inventive and detail-focused Color & Print Designer to lead seasonal color direction and print creation across multiple product lines, including blankets, sleepwear, and accessories. This position plays a key role in defining the brand’s visual identity through fresh color stories, original artwork, and commercially strong seasonal concepts.
The right candidate will excel in a rapidly scaling direct-to-consumer environment and be able to convert trend insights, customer understanding, and brand identity into production-ready artwork and color systems.
This role is based in New York City and involves only limited travel for product review and approval needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and delivery of seasonal color palettes and print concepts that reflect the brand direction and assortment strategy.
- Create digital mood boards, inspiration presentations, and trend research materials to support seasonal concept reviews.
- Collaborate with the broader product team to build cohesive color narratives that stay true to the brand across categories.
- Design original prints and patterns for both core collections and collaborations across all product categories.
- Develop multiple color variations and scale options to meet merchandising requirements and margin goals.
- Prepare vendor-ready artwork files with accurate technical details and repeat precision.
- Oversee lab dip and print strike-off reviews, checking for correct tone, saturation, scale, and fabric hand feel.
- Provide clear and practical feedback to vendors to help maintain color consistency and print quality.
- Track color standards and support approvals through color trial and pre-production stages.
- Work closely with Design, Merchandising, and Product Development teams to align creative vision with business objectives.
- Support product storytelling and visual materials used for internal reviews and launch planning.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience at a fast-growing DTC apparel or home brand, ideally at the Associate Designer or Designer level.
- A strong portfolio showing print development, color storytelling, and execution across multiple product categories.
- Solid understanding of textile printing methods and production workflows, including lab dips and print strike-offs from concept through production.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop, along with experience using AI-based design tools to speed up ideation and refinement.
- Strong knowledge of repeat design layouts, scale development, and color separation for production.
- Excellent organization and project management skills, with the ability to handle several seasonal calendars at the same time.
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or a related discipline.
Perks & Benefits
- Competitive compensation package.
- Full benefits package including health, dental, vision, and PTO.
- 401(k) plan with company matching.
- Paid time off plus company holidays.
- The chance to contribute directly to a fast-growing, design-forward brand.
- A collaborative team that is passionate and mission-driven.
