The role centers on understanding business needs, reviewing existing systems, shaping migration requirements, and making sure cloud solutions stay aligned with organizational goals.

The successful candidate will work as the connector between business leaders and technical delivery teams, helping ensure the migration creates clear business benefits while reducing operational disruption.

Key responsibilities

  • Collect, interpret, and document business and functional needs for cloud migration work.
  • Compare current-state and future-state processes or systems to uncover gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Define the business outcomes, measurable indicators, and success criteria for migration initiatives.
  • Support the creation of the cloud migration strategy and delivery roadmap.
  • Review the current application landscape, infrastructure, interdependencies, and readiness of data for migration.
  • Work with architects and project managers to shape the migration approach, scope, and delivery timelines.
  • Identify data sources, target platforms, mapping needs, and transformation rules.
  • Establish data quality expectations and business validation checks.
  • Help ensure migrated data remains accurate, complete, and usable for the business.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between business and technical stakeholders.
  • Run workshops, requirement sessions, and sign-off discussions.
  • Clarify migration scope, risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing and business validation testing.
  • Confirm that migrated applications satisfy business requirements and service-level expectations.
  • Verify functional behavior, integrations, and data accuracy after migration.
  • Identify migration risks and business continuity concerns.
  • Support compliance with regulatory, security, and governance requirements.
  • Contribute impact and risk assessments to guide decisions.
  • Assist with change management, training, process documentation, and post-migration stabilization.
  • Gather stakeholder feedback and support adoption of new processes and systems.

Requirements

  • Proven business analysis background with strong experience in requirement gathering and documentation.
  • Hands-on ability to model processes in both current-state and future-state formats.
  • Solid gap analysis and business case development skills.
  • Working familiarity with Agile and Scrum delivery environments.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of cloud migration approaches, lifecycle stages, application migration, and data migration concepts.
  • Experience contributing to cloud transformation or migration programs.
  • Practical exposure to data mapping, transformation, ETL concepts, and data flow analysis.
  • Awareness of integration dependencies and APIs.
  • Ability to convert business needs into technical requirements.
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication capabilities.
  • Experience collaborating with business users, architects, developers, and QA teams.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Visio, Lucidchart, SQL, and Excel is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 6 to 10+ years of experience in Business Analysis.
  • 2 to 4+ years of experience in cloud migration or data migration programs.
  • Additional advantage for candidates with domain exposure in BFSI, Retail, or Healthcare.
  • Useful extras include experience in data governance, cloud cost optimization analysis, and certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, AWS fundamentals, or Azure fundamentals.
