Job description

Role overview

This role is for a Clinical Trial Liaison working in the US on a remote basis. The position is part of a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organization focused on advancing clinical development through an inclusive, high-performance culture.

The Clinical Trial Liaison serves as a field-based site engagement specialist who supports clinical trials by offering scientific and clinical guidance to investigators and site personnel. A core part of the job is making sure study sites clearly understand the protocol, design, and procedures so trial objectives can be met. The role also includes recruitment-focused responsibilities, including shaping and improving strategies at both site and study level to strengthen patient enrollment.

This position is designed for someone comfortable working in the field, engaging directly at sites and at industry meetings or conferences, and turning outreach strategies into practical action that improves patient access. The role calls for cross-functional collaboration with medical and scientific leaders, advocates, and other key stakeholders across the research ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide scientific and clinical support to investigators and site staff participating in studies.
  • Help ensure sites understand the study plan, protocol, and required procedures.
  • Support recruitment planning and site-level strategies aimed at improving patient enrollment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with scientific, clinical, and operational stakeholders.
  • Engage with sites and attend industry meetings or conferences to expand study access and participation.
  • Translate strategic best practices into local operational actions.
  • Work with internal and external partners to support trial execution and site engagement.

Candidate profile

The right candidate will bring a strong scientific and clinical network, along with the ability to influence, negotiate, and persuade effectively. They should be comfortable applying technical, scientific, and clinical knowledge in conversations with medical professionals and site teams.

Strong presentation and communication skills in the relevant local medical language are important, as is familiarity with the local healthcare environment. Business, analytical, and operational thinking are also needed, along with the flexibility to learn new therapeutic areas and products.

The employer is looking for someone who can develop relationships with suitable trial sites, think critically, and operate with a high level of independence while remaining collaborative.

Requirements

  • A doctoral qualification such as M.D., PharmD, or PhD is required.
  • Prior experience in clinical research within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO environment is preferred.
  • Broad scientific and medical understanding with knowledge of clinical development.
  • Therapeutic area experience in cardiometabolic, neuroscience, or oncology is considered ideal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally up to approximately 75% of the time.
  • Candidate should be based within easy access of a major airport.
  • The role may be home-based or office-based.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary.
  • Various annual leave options.
  • Health insurance choices for employees and family members.
  • Retirement planning support.
  • Global employee assistance programme with 24-hour access to specialist support.
  • Life assurance coverage.
  • Optional local benefits such as childcare vouchers, bike purchase schemes, discounted gym memberships, subsidized travel passes, and health assessments.
