Job description
About the Role
Stryde Research is seeking a business development professional to help expand access to clinical trials by partnering with specialty physicians. The company operates as a Site Management Organization (SMO), supporting the regulatory, coordination, and sponsor-side work so physicians can remain focused on patient care. The role is centered on opening conversations with the right practices and securing interest in the opportunity.
The organization is scaling quickly, with more than 20 sites already operating across Texas, Louisiana, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. This position is suited to someone who can identify the right physicians in a market, make an in-person approach confidently, and build enough trust for a meaningful follow-up.
What You’ll Do
- Research specialty practices and physicians in target markets.
- Identify the best decision-maker or contact point, which may be the physician or an office manager.
- Craft and send personalized cold emails and LinkedIn messages that generate replies.
- Place outbound calls as part of the outreach process.
- Visit clinics in person, introduce the opportunity, and start conversations face to face.
- Follow up persistently while maintaining professionalism and avoiding overpersistence.
- Qualify warm leads and pass them to leadership for closing discussions.
- Travel regularly within the DFW area and occasionally to other growth markets such as Houston, Louisiana, and the Northeast.
Who This Role Fits
This opportunity is designed for someone with prior outbound business development, medical sales, or clinical research outreach experience. The right candidate will know how to research targets, tailor outreach, and confidently walk into a clinic without an appointment and still leave with a next step.
You should be comfortable speaking professionally with physicians and office managers, able to handle rejection without losing momentum, and curious enough to learn the clinical trials space quickly. Prior experience in pharma sales, CRO or SMO environments, medical devices, or specialty healthcare is advantageous, though not required.
What We’re Not Looking For
- People who rely on a script for every conversation.
- People who need a warm introduction for every clinic visit.
- People who mistake activity for actual outcomes.
Compensation
The package includes a base salary along with performance incentives tied to the number of physician partnerships activated. Pay is structured around results, not just effort.
Application Instructions
To be considered, send a brief email to the hiring team with the subject line: BD Role — [Your Name]. No cover letter is needed. Instead, include 3–4 sentences explaining which specialty or market you would target first and how you would approach it.
