Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Support principal investigators in organizing clinical research work and checking that participants satisfy study eligibility rules.
  • Speak with patients to walk them through the study, gather relevant details, and help with the informed consent process.
  • Track compliance with study procedures and inform physicians if laboratory results or medication-related instructions show any inconsistencies.
  • Carry out protocol-driven tasks such as research EKGs, vital sign collection, and blood handling when needed.
  • Maintain patient records, input data into study databases, and assist with statistical review when required.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences, Life Sciences, or a closely related field is required.
  • Coursework should include research methods and microcomputer systems.
  • Three to six months of practical experience working on specific research studies is expected.
  • Applicants should understand research theory and common research techniques.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities are needed to handle several priorities while keeping records accurate.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills are important for working with patients and healthcare staff.

Preferred Background

  • Prior experience in clinical research or a similar healthcare environment is advantageous.
  • Exposure to statistical tools and data analysis methods will be helpful.
  • Familiarity with medical vocabulary and patient-care workflows is preferred.
  • Comfort working in a busy, changing environment is an asset.
