Job description
Role overview
Cromer Group Practice is hiring a driven clinical pharmacist to join a dual community and practice-based post. The role combines work at the partner-owned Cromer Pharmacy with clinical pharmacist duties inside Cromer Group Practice. You will work alongside four accredited checking technicians, another pharmacist, and receive daily guidance from the superintendent pharmacist and pharmacy manager. Newly qualified pharmacists who will be on the register from September can be considered. The setting is modern, well structured, and centred on collaboration and continuous improvement.
What the role involves
This position gives you access to GP surgery systems during working hours so you can contribute directly to improving prescribing. You will work closely with GPs and the wider clinical team to strengthen patient outcomes, support cost-conscious and evidence-based prescribing, and take an active part in patient care pathways. The post is designed as an innovative mix of community and primary care pharmacy work.
Support and development
The practice offers strong mentoring, ongoing professional development, exposure to advanced pharmacy automation and digital tools, and a supportive team environment focused on future-facing ways of working. The role is intended to allow you to make a meaningful difference to care across both community and primary care settings.
Essential criteria
Applicants should hold a pharmacy degree and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Experience after qualification in hospital, primary care, or community pharmacy is desirable, or the applicant should be working towards gaining that experience. A qualification as an independent prescriber, or progress toward it, is also expected. Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society is required. While previous experience in either a community or clinical setting is helpful, it is not mandatory because full support will be provided. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, patient-centred, open to new technology, and able to communicate and work well with others.
Checks and employment terms
This role requires current UK professional registration. It is also subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. The post is offered on a permanent, full-time basis at Mill Road, Cromer, Norfolk, NR27 0BG, United Kingdom. Salary is dependent on experience.
