Job description

About the Role

Join Places for People, a leading Social Enterprise, as a Cleaning Operative and contribute to maintaining high standards in communal and shared spaces. You will be part of an on-site team dedicated to ensuring cleanliness, safety, and a welcoming environment across various areas including receptions, foyers, kitchens, bathrooms, corridors, stairwells, and refuse areas. This role involves performing daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning tasks, utilizing specialist equipment where necessary. We prioritize individuals who embody our People Promises: doing the right thing, enthusiasm for growth, community spirit, respect, and enjoyment in their work. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, offering a guaranteed interview to disabled, neurodiverse, or Armed Forces veterans who meet the essential criteria.

About You

As a Cleaning Operative, you will be responsible for upholding clean, safe, and hygienic communal areas, taking pride in your work and fostering a positive atmosphere for colleagues and customers. Reliability, organization, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are key. You will understand the importance of safety procedures and correct equipment usage, and be flexible in supporting the team with additional tasks and engaging positively with others on site.

Benefits

We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support our employees. This includes a competitive salary with annual reviews, a pension scheme with matched contributions up to 7%, and a potential bonus scheme. You will receive 35 days of holiday (including bank holidays), with options to buy or sell days. Additional benefits include a healthcare cashback plan, access to wellbeing support services like counseling and flu jabs, private GP services, and a rewards platform offering retail and lifestyle discounts. We also provide ongoing training and development opportunities, including access to professional qualifications, career progression pathways, and internal development programs. Recognition schemes, a strong focus on inclusion and wellbeing, and free gym membership are also part of our offering.
