Role Overview
This cleaning position is based in Bowen, Queensland. The right candidate will receive all required training for the role. Work may be carried out in a chilled environment, and the roster can include early starts, night shifts, and weekends.
Key Duties
The cleaner will help maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across facilities, equipment, and fixtures. The role involves following site procedures, supporting scheduled cleaning activities, and making sure all tasks are completed to the required standard and on time.
Cleaning and Hygiene Responsibilities
- Learn and follow company policies, procedures, and related documentation to stay compliant with site requirements.
- Assist the supervisor with the master cleaning schedule and complete assigned jobs within deadlines.
- Work through cleaning checklists and approved methods to maintain strong hygiene outcomes.
- Safely measure, handle, and store cleaning chemicals, and use the correct equipment such as high-pressure hot-water cleaners.
- Remove dirt, debris, allergens, and other contamination effectively to support microbiological cleanliness.
- Use Safety Data Sheets for detergents, sanitisers, and other chemicals as part of safe work practices.
- Dispose of leftover chemicals and empty containers in a safe manner that meets regulatory expectations.
- Confirm cleaning tasks have been completed and keep accurate records of hygiene checks and inspections.
