Where you'll work
Job description
Role overview
As a Claims Assessor, you will join a high-performing team responsible for evaluating workers’ compensation claims. Your day will involve working with injured workers, employers, legal representatives, and allied health professionals to reach fair and accurate claim decisions.
This role calls for sound judgement, especially when deciding liability on personal injury matters. You’ll need to communicate clearly and calmly with people who may be in difficult or vulnerable situations, while maintaining momentum in a busy, deadline-driven environment.
The position offers varied work where you’ll build knowledge across physical and psychological injuries and develop practical experience in injury management.
What you’ll do
You will manage a caseload independently, consider complex information, and make informed decisions in line with legislation and policy. The role also requires balancing multiple priorities, meeting performance expectations, and explaining claim outcomes in a way customers can understand.
What we’re looking for
We’re seeking someone who is motivated, customer-oriented, and able to think critically when situations are unclear or challenging. You should be confident building rapport quickly, influencing outcomes, and starting a career with an organisation that values both its people and its customers.
Key capabilities
- Work through complicated and uncertain matters while remaining aligned with legislative requirements.
- Handle several tasks at once and deliver to targets without lowering the quality of your work.
- Present claim decisions clearly and transparently, including adverse outcomes, and help customers understand the reasoning and process.
Benefits and support
- Flexible remote working options available after probation.
- Competitive pay with access to banked time.
- Opportunities to grow through internal progression in a large, established organisation.
- Study support and leadership development pathways.
- A strong workplace culture with a focus on employee satisfaction.
- Convenient CBD location near public transport and dining options.
- End-of-trip facilities for cycling or jogging to work.
- Wellness initiatives including yoga, monthly activities, and an Employee Assistance Program.
How to apply

All prospective employees will undergo pre-employment screening, which may include a Right to Work in Australia check, Police Check, Education Check, Reference Check, and, where relevant, a Visa Check.
