Role overview
A contractor is seeking a Civil Estimator to join its tendering team in Waterford. The position focuses on pricing and coordinating the civil elements of bids across a variety of projects, with a mix of office-based and hybrid working.

Key responsibilities
- Examine drawings, specifications, and tender packs to understand the scope of work.
- Carry out quantity take-offs and produce precise costings for bids.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to gather quotations and compare pricing.
- Compile labour, plant, and material rates for tender submissions.
- Handle tender-related questions and coordinate with design and project stakeholders.
- Contribute to risk reviews and the development of bid pricing approaches.
- Support the completion and submission of all tender documents.
- Take part in site visits and tender meetings when needed.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will bring at least 5 years of experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or civil engineering. A strong working knowledge of civil works and construction methods is important, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and project information accurately.
Experience with estimating software is helpful, although strong Excel skills may also be suitable. The role also calls for solid organisation, the ability to work to deadlines, and confidence in managing tasks independently.
Package and working arrangement
The salary on offer is €65,000 to €75,000 per year, depending on experience. Hybrid working is available, and a full benefits package can be discussed during the application process.
