Key Responsibilities
The Early Child Care Bus Driver is responsible for safe and compliant student transportation, as well as assisting the center when needed.
- Comply with local and state rules related to transportation safety.
- Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly bus inspections and inform leadership about maintenance concerns.
- Transport elementary-aged children according to the assigned schedule, including school pick-ups and drop-offs as well as summer field trips.
- Stay aligned with Department of Motor Vehicle requirements and regulations.
- Support the Center Director with classroom help or other assigned duties when necessary.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
- Need to maintain a clean DMV record and provide the Director with an updated copy once each year.
- Prior experience with children in a child care, daycare, or preschool environment is preferred.
- Ability to read, follow, and enforce the Policy and Procedure Manual is required.
- At least 6 months of experience in a licensed child care facility is required.
- Early childhood coursework, a CDA, or a degree is preferred.
- Must be flexible regarding working hours and job duties.
