Role overview
This senior leadership position is centered on building and executing a technology roadmap for a respected private business based in Abbotsford, Victoria. Reporting to the COO, the CTO will be responsible for making sure technology programs are delivered in step with the company’s wider strategic goals.
The role involves close collaboration with executive leaders and business stakeholders to design, prioritise, and deliver a multi-year portfolio of work spanning core platforms, digital capability, and data-focused solutions. Success in this role depends on keeping technology practical, commercially sensible, and tied to measurable results across the organisation.
This is a role that combines strategic direction with hands-on leadership, where stakeholder management, disciplined delivery, and clear roadmap execution are essential.
Key responsibilities
- Direct the execution of the organisation’s technology roadmap so it remains aligned with business priorities.
- Work with executive stakeholders to decide the order and focus of technology initiatives.
- Lead delivery across programs covering platforms, applications, and data initiatives from start to finish.
- Oversee technology investment planning and ensure spending supports business outcomes and value creation.
- Partner with business teams to turn operational requirements into practical delivery plans.
- Promote strong software engineering practices, delivery methods, operating processes, and modern technology approaches.
- Keep milestones on track and ensure work is completed within approved timelines and budgets.
- Improve communication and coordination between technology teams and business stakeholders across all levels.
- Develop a delivery function that is disciplined, accountable, and focused on outcomes.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise-level technology roadmaps.
- Strong track record of managing programs across multiple workstreams.
- Proven ability to engage, influence, and align both executive and operational stakeholders.
- Commercial judgement with the ability to rank initiatives according to business value.
- Exposure to current software development tools, methods, processes, and technologies.
- Experience introducing AI-supported software development tools and modern engineering productivity practices.
- Comfort working in fast-moving, operationally complex environments.
- Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
