Job description

Company Overview

Bell Partners Newcastle is a client-focused professional services firm offering taxation, accounting, financial planning, wealth management, and business advisory support. The organization combines broad international experience with modern technology to provide efficient, time-saving services and practical financial guidance. Its goal is to help clients understand their current financial position and build a long-term strategy for sustainable success. The culture is forward-looking and impact-driven, making it a strong environment for professionals who want to contribute to meaningful growth and innovation.

Role Summary

This part-time, remote Chief Technology Officer position is responsible for setting and driving the company’s technology direction. The CTO will shape and execute the IT strategy so that technology supports business goals, improves service delivery, strengthens operational efficiency, and meets compliance expectations.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will guide software development efforts, assess and choose the right tools and platforms, and oversee the technical structure of systems and integrations. You will work closely with leadership to define product priorities, manage technology projects and roadmaps, and create standards for security, data handling, and system reliability. You will also coach technical team members and external vendors, keep track of new technology trends, and advise on improvements that support innovation and scale.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in software development and product development, with a track record of delivering secure, dependable, and user-friendly solutions. You should be skilled in IT strategy and architecture, including the design of scalable systems, integrations, and cloud-based setups aligned with business objectives. Solid project management ability is essential, covering planning, prioritization, stakeholder communication, and delivery within schedule and budget.

Applicants should bring senior technology leadership experience such as CTO, Head of Engineering, or a similar role, preferably in professional services, finance, or SaaS environments. A good understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance requirements relevant to financial and advisory services is important. The role also calls for strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills in a remote, part-time setting, along with experience working across finance, advisory, and operations teams to turn business needs into practical technical solutions.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. An advanced degree or relevant certifications would be an added advantage.
