Chief Procurement Officer

About the Opportunity

This role is for a senior procurement executive who will shape and improve company-wide procurement and strategic sourcing efforts. The position focuses on building sourcing plans that support growth, deepening supplier relationships, raising operational effectiveness, and delivering long-term value throughout the organization.

The organization is looking for a strategic leader with substantial experience running complex procurement functions, handling high-value commercial negotiations, and guiding cross-functional teams in a fast-moving business setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement procurement and sourcing strategies that align with overall business goals.
• Drive strategic sourcing work across both direct and indirect spend areas.
• Develop and maintain strong, lasting partnerships with domestic and international suppliers.
• Improve supplier results through clear standards for quality, delivery, cost, and service.
• Work closely with Finance, Operations, Legal, Manufacturing, and Business Leadership to advance company priorities.
• Lead negotiations and commercial discussions for major supplier contracts and agreements.
• Find opportunities to enhance procurement performance through technology, automation, and data-based decision-making.
• Track market movements, supply conditions, and industry changes to inform planning.
• Set procurement governance practices, policies, and performance measures.
• Coach and grow a high-performing procurement team while encouraging collaboration and ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a similar discipline is required.
• At least 12 years of progressive leadership experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.
• Prior executive-level leadership of enterprise procurement functions.
• Strong capability in supplier negotiations, contract administration, and category management.
• Demonstrated success managing large procurement budgets and strategic supplier relationships.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience using ERP and procurement platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or Ariba is preferred.

Preferred Background

• Experience in manufacturing, healthcare, technology, consumer products, logistics, or industrial sectors.
• Exposure to global sourcing and international supplier management.
• Understanding of procurement analytics, supplier performance management, and operational excellence programs.
