Role Summary
The Chief Operating Officer will work on a part-time, remote basis and will be accountable for the company’s daily operations while keeping execution aligned with broader strategic objectives. This position leads operational planning, simplifies workflows, and brings teams together across functions to improve productivity and service quality. The role also includes reviewing performance indicators, overseeing budgets and financial discipline, and supporting business planning activities. In partnership with the executive leadership team, the COO will help prioritize major initiatives, reduce operational exposure, and introduce effective operating practices across the business. The role also involves guiding and developing managers to build stronger leadership skills and reinforce operational consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations and ensure they support the company’s strategic priorities.
- Develop operational plans and coordinate their execution across teams and departments.
- Improve internal processes to increase efficiency and strengthen service delivery.
- Track performance metrics, identify gaps, and use insights to support better decisions.
- Oversee budgets, financial controls, and resource allocation.
- Support business planning and contribute to long-term organizational direction.
- Work closely with the executive team to sequence priorities and advance critical projects.
- Assess operational risks and put practical mitigation measures in place.
- Promote best practices and operational discipline throughout the organization.
- Coach and mentor managers to enhance leadership capability.
Qualifications
- Experience in business planning, including setting goals, building strategy, and monitoring execution.
- Background in operations management with the ability to create, implement, and improve business processes.
- Strong analytical capability to interpret data and evaluate performance trends.
- Knowledge of finance and budgeting, including cost management and resource allocation.
- Prior leadership experience in a senior operations or executive position, ideally within technology or service-based companies.
- Clear communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills suited to a remote, cross-functional environment.
- Ability to work autonomously on a part-time basis while handling several priorities at once.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or a closely related field; an MBA or similar advanced qualification is a plus.
