About Breakthrough Academy

Breakthrough Academy is a rapidly evolving company with over 11 years of experience, dedicated to empowering high-performing entrepreneurs in the contracting industry. We achieve this by implementing robust operational systems, fostering entrepreneurship, and helping our Members overcome challenges to elevate their businesses. Our unique training program focuses on systemizing operations, developing core business acumen, and ensuring accountability to clear business objectives. With a team of over 50 professionals and more than 750 business owners benefiting from our program, we are recognized leaders in the contracting sector, assisting companies across the continent in refining their operational systems and processes. As we enter a new phase of significant growth, we are prioritizing execution discipline, leadership development, and operational consistency.

The Opportunity: Chief Operating Officer

We are seeking our first-ever Chief Operating Officer to spearhead our operational strategy and execution. This pivotal role is designed for an individual who thrives in dynamic, growth-oriented environments and possesses a proven ability to drive operational excellence across multiple business functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate strategic directives from the CEO into actionable execution plans spanning Operations, People & Culture, Revenue, Finance, and Member Experience.
  • Champion revenue growth by ensuring that systems, teams, and processes are optimized for conversion and sustained expansion.
  • Enhance leadership accountability and elevate the quality of decision-making throughout the organization.
  • Boost operational efficiency by establishing stronger structures, defining clear ownership, and fostering disciplined execution across all teams.
  • Collaborate with the CEO on revenue and profitability oversight, including forecasting, budget input, and margin enhancement strategies.
  • Guarantee the consistent delivery of high-quality member experiences across all programs and service channels.
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of cross-functional strategic initiatives, from initial planning to final delivery.
  • Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts for all departmental teams.
  • Oversee the successful execution of key company events and internal engagement initiatives.
  • Proactively identify and address operational issues to prevent any negative impact on revenue, delivery, or team performance.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years in a senior operational leadership capacity within a business generating over $20 million in annual revenue, or equivalent experience with $10 million in annual payroll.
  • Demonstrated direct oversight of multiple critical functions, including Operations, People & Culture, Revenue, and Member Experience.
  • A strong history of achieving revenue targets through effective operational execution systems.
  • Proven accountability for key performance indicators, forecasting, and the operational drivers of revenue and profitability.
  • A track record of successfully enhancing execution systems, organizational performance, and leadership accountability.
  • Exceptional project management and communication abilities, with a capacity to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
  • Experience in directly supervising multiple department leaders responsible for operational, people, revenue, and delivery outcomes, with full accountability for cross-functional execution.
  • Experience in creating structure and accountability without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • A focus on improving business execution rather than solely redefining the company's vision.

Benefits and Perks

  • Serve as the CEO's primary execution partner in a high-performing, profitable, and founder-led organization.
  • Take ownership of the company's internal operating engine, encompassing Operations, People & Culture, Revenue, and Member Experience.
  • Contribute to a rapidly expanding, technology-driven training company that supports over 750 business leaders across North America.
  • Significantly influence Breakthrough Academy's execution, scalability, and daily performance.
  • Be part of a company where exceptional execution directly translates into tangible business results for our Members.
  • Receive a highly competitive executive compensation package, including a strong base salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Benefit from meaningful stock options that align your success with the organization's growth.
  • Enjoy exclusive travel perks and company events in desirable locations, with past events including trips to Cabo and Canmore.
