Role Overview
The Chief Operating Officer will be a full-time remote leader responsible for managing daily operations and strengthening execution across Better Ventures. This person will convert strategic priorities into practical operating plans, improve internal workflows, and make sure client projects are delivered efficiently and to a consistently high standard. The role includes oversight of budgeting, allocation of resources, and tracking performance against key metrics, while partnering closely with the leadership team to support growth targets. The COO will also work with consultants and partners to refine service delivery, improve systems and tools, and support stronger collaboration across functions. In addition, this position will help build scalable operating structures, contribute to hiring and team development, and take part in strategic decisions around business planning and market growth.
Responsibilities
- Turn company strategy into clear operational plans and measurable execution roadmaps.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure consistent operational excellence.
- Improve internal processes, workflows, and cross-functional coordination.
- Track budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and resource allocation.
- Monitor KPIs, build performance dashboards, and use data to guide decisions.
- Support timely, high-quality delivery of client projects.
- Work with consultants, partners, and leadership to strengthen service delivery.
- Develop scalable operating frameworks, tools, and systems.
- Contribute to hiring, team growth, and organizational development.
- Participate in strategic planning for business expansion and market growth.
Requirements
- Strong ability in business planning and strategic execution, with experience translating vision into operating plans.
- Hands-on operations management background, including process design, workflow improvement, and performance management.
- Advanced analytical capability for interpreting data, identifying trends, and improving decisions through operational insight.
- Solid finance and budgeting knowledge, including forecasting, cost management, and resource planning.
- Experience in professional services, venture building, startups, or other high-growth environments; exposure to deep tech or technology-led businesses is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, partnership-building, and stakeholder management skills in remote and distributed settings.
- Proven leadership experience guiding teams or cross-functional initiatives with accountability and transparency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline; an MBA or other advanced degree is helpful but not mandatory.
