Job description
Role overview
Museum of Ice Cream is a category-creating experiential entertainment company built around joy, nostalgia, and play. The business has expanded quickly, now operating 13 locations across the U.S. and Singapore, and is looking for a Chief Operating Officer to help support the next stage of growth without diluting the brand’s distinctive spirit.
This is a hands-on builder and integrator position, not a routine management role. The COO will act as the CEO’s closest strategic partner and help turn creative vision into disciplined execution across operations, people, finance, marketing, production, technology, construction, and guest experience.
The ideal leader has experience in founder-led, high-growth environments and knows how to introduce structure, accountability, and scalable systems while preserving creativity, hospitality, culture, and energy. This role is meant for someone who can help strengthen the infrastructure and leadership alignment needed for larger expansion, more markets, and greater global impact.
Location requirement
Applicants must be based in a city where Museum of Ice Cream already has a presence. Eligible cities include New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Miami, and Boston. Although several job listings may appear, this posting represents a single open role.
What the role does
Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will help unify the organization and ensure that strategy is translated into reliable execution across the company. The role spans headquarters and field operations and requires close coordination across functions so the business can scale while maintaining the guest experience and company culture.
Key responsibilities
The COO will be responsible for building alignment, improving operating discipline, and strengthening the systems that support growth. This includes partnering with senior leaders across operations, finance, people, marketing, production, construction, technology, creative, and guest experience to keep priorities clear and execution consistent.
Growth and operational focus
The position also covers enterprise planning, performance tracking, and expansion readiness. The COO will support new market launches, flagship openings, and other strategic growth initiatives while ensuring readiness, financial discipline, and brand consistency.
Success measures
Success in this role will be reflected in stronger same-store sales and increased customer spend by 10% year over year, improved NPS and net review scores against target, more effective leadership communication, clearer operating rhythms, scalable processes, and stronger coordination across the business. The role will also be measured by successful market launches, consistent operational standards, a high-performing culture, and strong alignment between the CEO, leadership team, and broader organization.
Compensation
Compensation is described as highly competitive and includes a base salary, management bonus opportunity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Other notes
Candidate must be able to travel up to 50% of the time. Museum of Ice Cream is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, veteran status, or other legally protected status.
Benefits and perks
Benefits include competitive pay, annual bonus, 401(k), stock options, PTO and sick time, dental insurance, health insurance, vision insurance, employee development opportunities, 16 complimentary museum tickets per year for friends and family, free admission for the employee, and 50% off retail products. Additional perks include ClassPass, commuter discounts, an employee assistance program, and unlimited ice cream.
Ideal profile
The company is looking for a leader who can work closely with a founder or CEO, operate effectively across both headquarters and field teams, and balance strategic thinking with practical execution in a fast-moving environment.
Compensation is not stated as a fixed amount in the source.
