Job description
About the company
Hospitable builds software that helps short-term rental businesses operate with less manual effort, backed by a polished product and a strong user experience. The company is fully remote, globally distributed, and built on trust, with people working across regions, cultures, and backgrounds. It moves quickly, makes deliberate choices, and values strong execution.
The business is already profitable and operates internationally through multiple entities. The team is looking for a finance leader who can turn the finance function into a driver of growth, helping the company back the right opportunities, scale responsibly, and create long-term value for both employees and investors. This role reports directly to the CEO.
Role overview
The Chief Financial Officer will provide senior financial leadership across capital allocation, growth strategy, long-term value creation, and the development of a modern finance organization. This is a hands-on executive role for someone who can operate at company scale while also building the systems, team, and external credibility needed for the next phase of growth.
Key responsibilities
- Own capital deployment decisions and help build the business case for the initiatives that deserve investment.
- Give leadership clear financial insight so the company can invest confidently while scaling in a disciplined and profitable way.
- Shape the company’s long-term financial future and the liquidity opportunities that may arise for both the team and investors.
- Serve as the company’s financial representative to external stakeholders such as investors, partners, banks, and auditors.
- Design, hire, and lead a lean finance team that uses AI thoughtfully across the company’s international operations.
- Set the operating standard for the finance function and strengthen trust and partnership across the organization.
Working model
This is a remote-only position in a distributed company. Strong daily overlap with both EMEA and US Eastern time zones is expected. The successful candidate will also report to the CEO.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading finance in a company that has reached meaningful scale, with a track record of building durable value for shareholders.
- Strong background in international, multi-entity, and multi-currency operations.
- Solid understanding of cross-border tax and compliance, including US indirect tax.
- A recognized accounting credential such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or a locally accredited CPA, along with strong FP&A and financial modelling capability.
- High ownership, proactive communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote setting.
- Availability for strong daily overlap across EMEA and US Eastern time zones.
Preferred background
- Experience in a SaaS-enabled marketplace business, including forecasting transactional GBV as well as recurring revenue.
- Experience in travel, hospitality, or proptech.
- Prior success building a finance function from a founder-led setup to an institutional-grade operation.
Benefits and compensation
- A supportive, highly transparent, and caring team culture focused on outcomes rather than supervision.
- Total cash compensation of up to US$312,000 per year, depending on location cost of living.
- International hiring is available on a contractor basis; employee hiring is possible for candidates based in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, or Australia, with payroll taxes factored into gross pay.
- Equity in the form of $HOST token RSUs valued at US$436,800, vesting over four years, which works out to about US$109,200 per year.
- For US employees: healthcare coverage including EPO, PPO, and HSA options, plus a 401(k).
- 35 days of leave each year, including self-serve public holidays, plus parental leave.
- Access to mental health and emotional support through therapists available on Slack via Spill.
Additional information
The company encourages candidates to apply even if they do not meet every stated requirement. A strong fit, relevant judgment, and the ability to explain your value matter here.
