Job description
Afford is a prominent Australian not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities. As a registered NDIS provider and charity, Afford operates across New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, and Victoria, offering a comprehensive suite of services including accommodation, community and lifestyle support, in-home care, employment services, and NDIS support coordination. The organization currently serves over 2,100 clients and employs nearly 1,000 staff nationwide.
The OpportunityReporting directly to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will be instrumental in shaping the organization's strategic direction, driving operational excellence, and leading within the sector. This role involves close collaboration with the Board and the Executive Leadership Team to enhance organizational capabilities, ensure the delivery of high-quality and safe services, and position Afford for sustained growth in a dynamic service landscape.
Key Responsibilities- Spearhead the organization's mission to deliver safe, high-quality services to individuals with disabilities.
- Champion the development and implementation of Afford’s strategic vision and key organizational objectives.
- Oversee financial sustainability and strategic investment decisions while fostering service innovation and expansion.
- Drive the sustainable scaling of the organization within the sector and explore opportunities in new markets.
- Enhance quality assurance, safeguarding protocols, compliance measures, and continuous improvement across all service areas.
- Act as the primary representative for Afford in engagements with government bodies, regulatory agencies, sector organizations, and the broader community.
- Cultivate a values-driven, high-performance culture that aligns with Afford’s mission and commitment to inclusivity.
- Possess proven experience as a CEO or senior executive, with a track record of leading complex human services organizations within health, disability, community sectors, or related commercial fields.
- Exhibit a profound understanding of the disability sector, NDIS policies, and the relevant regulatory framework.
- Demonstrate success in managing large-scale, geographically dispersed service operations.
- Have experience guiding executive teams through periods of growth, transformation, and reform.
- Show a history of effective engagement and influence with government stakeholders, regulators, and community partners.
- Maintain a strong commitment to purpose-driven leadership, consumer rights, and the social model of disability.
- A pivotal Chief Executive role within a leading national disability services organization.
