About the Role

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Chef de Partie for its luxury Doha property in West Bay. This hotel is positioned in one of the city’s most prominent areas, close to the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, government offices, corporate headquarters, City Center Mall, and Doha Golf Club. The property features spacious rooms and suites with city and sea views, acclaimed dining outlets, modern meeting spaces, convenient access to local attractions, a health and fitness club, and a rooftop pool.

As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for managing daily food preparation and assigned kitchen duties while maintaining the required standards of quality. The role also calls for supporting the brand’s service culture and the 5 winning ways: Do the Right Thing, Show We Care, Aim Higher, Celebrate Difference, and Work Better Together.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily mise-en-place and carry out food production across different sections of the main kitchen.
  • Work closely with the Sous Chef or Executive Chef to coordinate day-to-day tasks.
  • Carry out instructions and guidance from senior chefs to complete assigned duties.
  • Maintain consistently high standards in food preparation and stay current with new ingredients, recipes, and cooking methods.
  • Lead and direct junior team members in their daily kitchen tasks.
  • Take an active role in setting up and supervising buffets and special events.
  • Coordinate with other sections to manage requirements, cleanliness, wastage, and cost control.
  • Review daily needs, functions, and last-minute event requirements.
  • Coach and support subordinates every day to maintain motivation and an efficient working environment.

Candidate Profile

  • Prior experience working in a luxury hotel environment is preferred.
  • A business-related degree or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
  • Exposure to effective learning and development practices is an advantage.
  • Ability to perform well in a busy, multicultural workplace.
  • Strong people skills with excellent written and spoken English communication.
  • Knowledge of an additional language will be considered a plus.
  • Well-developed organizational abilities.
  • Self-driven, results-focused, and positive in approach.
