RebalanceMD is a prominent multidisciplinary medical practice based in Victoria, British Columbia. Its team includes physicians, surgeons, physiotherapists, kinesiologists, and other allied health professionals. The organization is recognized throughout Vancouver Island, and The Shop operates within the clinical setting, working in close coordination with the wider RebalanceMD team.
Role overview
RebalanceMD is looking for a Certified Pedorthist to join The Shop in Victoria. This position partners with the lead Pedorthist and manages a varied clinical caseload involving custom orthotics, custom bracing, footwear fitting, and patient follow-up. The role benefits from a strong flow of referrals from physicians and physiotherapists across the practice.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate patients with foot, ankle, and lower-limb issues, including gait concerns, alignment, pain, recovery from injury, and mobility limitations.
- Collect measurements, scans, or impressions needed to create custom orthotics.
- Develop and fit custom foot orthotics.
- Work with the lead Pedorthist to fit and design custom bracing.
- Fit medical footwear, compression products, and other durable medical equipment.
- Explain how to use and care for products, and set clear expectations for outcomes.
- Coordinate with orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine doctors, physiotherapists, kinesiologists, and other clinicians in the practice.
- Resolve fit issues, conduct patient follow-ups, and help ensure a positive experience in both the clinical and retail aspects of the role.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant is a Canadian Certified Pedorthist (C.Ped(C)) in good standing. The employer will also consider candidates who have completed the Western University Pedorthic diploma and are only a few months away from taking the certification exam. Strong communication skills are important, along with the ability to translate clinical recommendations into practical product-based solutions. The role suits someone who is collaborative, team-focused, mature, energetic, and comfortable working in a busy clinical-retail environment.
Work schedule and location
This is an on-site position at the RebalanceMD Victoria clinic in Uptown Shopping Centre, Victoria, British Columbia. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
