Role overview
Amazon Private Brands is seeking a customer-focused Category Manager to help accelerate one of Amazon.in’s key growth engines. This role is centered on managing a category end to end, including P&L responsibility, and taking ownership of the product/brand launch journey from initial opportunity through scale-up. The position calls for strong analytical thinking, clear communication, project execution ability, and the flexibility to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.
What the role will focus on
You will be responsible for building profitable category growth, introducing new products and brands, and expanding existing assortments. The work requires a mix of strategy and hands-on execution, along with strong skills in product development, vendor sourcing, supplier identification, and commercial negotiations. Success in this role also depends on being comfortable with uncertainty and thriving in an entrepreneurial setting.

Key responsibilities
In this position, you will create a data-led roadmap for long-term category expansion, improve the performance of current selection by addressing key business inputs, and develop new offerings using customer and retail insights. You will also work closely with cross-functional partners to push the category growth agenda and drive profitable topline expansion.
Qualifications and experience
The role requires at least 2 years of Excel experience and 2 years of experience in retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting, with exposure to negotiations and delivering results. A background in financial analysis and ownership of P&L is also needed.
Preferred background
Experience handling large datasets to improve performance and processes is preferred, along with experience in vendor negotiations, pricing, promotions, inventory management, and product development.
