Role Overview

Expo City Dubai’s Finance Department oversees the organization’s financial planning, accounting, auditing, control, and financial reporting activities. In this role, the Cashier will help the Revenue Team manage day-to-day operations linked to Community and Facilities Management, Concessions, and Commercial Leases, while also supporting collections, payment checks, and required reporting.

Key Duties

  • Handle incoming payments through cheques, card terminals, cash deposit slips, and direct transfers to the Expo City Dubai bank account.
  • Submit cheques for banking after review by the line manager.
  • Issue either manual or system-generated receipts to customers.
  • Scan and store cheques, receipts, and contracts in the shared drive.
  • Enter all received payments into the system and attach the supporting documents.
  • Keep leasing payment workflows updated, including payments received, not received, and bounced cheques.
  • Process bounced cheques in the system and notify Finance, Leasing, and Legal with the relevant evidence, such as scanned cheques, bank notices, and signed contracts.
  • Maintain custody of bounced cheques, bank guarantees, undated cheques, and post-dated cheques, and forward them to the bank when they mature.
  • Carry out monthly or quarterly physical checks of post-dated cheques held in cashier custody and reconcile differences between records and actual instruments, subject to line manager confirmation.
  • Prepare daily collection summaries and safekeeping reports for the line manager.
  • Work with the Accounts Receivable Finance team on monthly reconciliations and related reporting.
  • Retrieve cheques from the bank when management approval is granted, such as when a customer changes banks or authorized signatories change.
  • Review cheques for security features to ensure alignment with Central Bank requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

The position calls for at least 5 years of experience in a similar cashier or finance support role, preferably within the real estate sector. A bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in Accounting or Business Management. Strong written and spoken communication, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, keen attention to detail, and solid analytical and reporting ability are essential. The role also requires someone who can adapt to change and handle complex or unclear tasks confidently.
