Job description
Role overview
The Cashier will oversee the branch’s daily cash-handling activities, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and in line with company standards. This role requires close adherence to internal policies and procedures, with a strong focus on compliance and record accuracy.
Key accountabilities
- Accept cash and cheque payments from parts and service customers, issue receipts, and keep customer records updated.
- Enter all cash and cheque transactions into the system accurately.
- Ensure monthly sales invoices are completed within the required timeline.
- Deposit cash into the bank on a daily basis.
- Handle petty cash administration, complete reconciliations, and upload the finalized records into the system.
- Track post-dated cheques, arrange bank deposits, and reconcile them against customer accounts.
- Support the continuous improvement of processes and keep procedure documents current.
- Build working knowledge of the responsibilities handled by other team members.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned when operational needs arise.
Education and experience
A diploma in finance, accounting, or a related discipline is required. Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience.
