Job overview

This role sits within the Engineering & Facilities function and is based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. It is a full-time, non-management position that is not remote.

What you will do

The carpenter will construct, install, and repair a wide range of interior and structural elements across the property. Work includes building and fixing walls and partitions, drywall, wallpaper, millwork, moldings, faux finishes, and laminate surfaces. The role also involves rough framing for doors, door frames, windows, and cabinetry, along with repairing and maintaining wood-based items such as partitions, doors, and furniture.

In addition, the position covers small maintenance tasks such as tightening loose toilet seats, replacing light bulbs, and patching wall holes. The carpenter will also raise purchase requests, secure managerial approval, work with approved vendors, and handle loading, moving, and unloading freight from elevators to the required areas using a hand truck.

Standards and working expectations

All company, safety, and security rules must be followed at all times. Any maintenance issues, safety concerns, accidents, or injuries need to be reported promptly, and required safety training and certifications must be completed. The role also requires a neat professional appearance, discretion with confidential information, protection of company assets, and clear, courteous communication with colleagues and guests.

The job further calls for strong teamwork, a service-oriented approach, and the ability to support guests, including people with disabilities, in line with company standards. Physical demands include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects up to 50 pounds without help, as well as frequent bending, reaching, twisting, climbing ladders, and handling items of different sizes and weights with precision.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. At least 2 years of related work experience is required. No supervisory background is needed, and no license or certification is specified.
