Job description
Role overview
The Windsor Forest Colleges Group is seeking a Caretaker to join the Windsor College team on a full-time, permanent basis. The salary range for this post is G17 £25,483 to G19 £27,284, with the final offer depending on the candidate’s skills and qualifications.
What the role involves
This position combines site supervision, facilities support, and practical operational tasks across the campus. You will coordinate outside contractors handling cleaning and maintenance, while also assisting the centre with porter services, incoming deliveries, and arrangements for events.
The role also includes purchasing necessary supplies, keeping up-to-date as a First Aider, and supporting Health & Safety standards through routine checks and inspections. You will regularly walk the campus, carry out cleaning and maintenance duties, react quickly to urgent issues, and help with event logistics and security-related activity.
Day-to-day duties also cover managing building access, including opening and securing facilities as required, supporting alarm systems during incidents, and dealing with security needs. Flexibility is important, as the post may involve a broad range of related tasks and occasional support at other locations.
About the employer
The Windsor Forest Colleges Group is an established education provider in the South-East. Its staff operate across four main campuses: Langley, Windsor, Strodes-Egham, and Berkshire College of Agriculture in Maidenhead. The organisation focuses on learner experience and delivers education and training to a diverse mix of students and businesses each year.
Benefits
Staff members receive a generous package that includes annual leave, pension support, parking, development opportunities, and wellbeing perks. The group also promotes work-life balance through family-friendly policies and offers on-site food and leisure conveniences.
Application and hiring process
The vacancy closes on Friday 19 June 2026. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis, and the employer may interview and appoint before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.
Applicants should complete the online application form and give careful attention to the supporting statement, clearly showing how they meet each essential criterion from the person specification.
Safeguarding and vetting
The college is committed to protecting children and young people and expects all staff to share that responsibility. Successful candidates will need to complete an enhanced DBS check, a Barred List check, and any other legally required pre-employment checks.
Agency note
The organisation works with a preferred supplier list for recruitment support where needed and does not consider speculative CVs or unsolicited candidate referrals from agencies outside that list.
