Care Support Worker - Limerick

Role overview

Cheshire Ireland is hiring Care Support Workers for its Rathfredagh service in County Limerick. This is a contract role with 2 x 35-hour positions available. Working approach

The service follows a person-first model built around supporting one person at a time. Team members are expected to deliver care that is rights-based, person-centred, and responsive to changing needs. Main duties

In this role, you will assist people with day-to-day living activities based on each person's individual plan and needs. You will be expected to build relationships founded on dignity, equality, respect, and support for independence, while working in line with Cheshire Ireland's values, ethos, and standards.

Requirements

Applicants should either hold, or currently be working towards, a minimum of QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support, QQI Level 6 in Social Care, or a nursing qualification. Previous experience supporting people with disabilities is required or strongly preferred, and candidates without formal qualifications may still be considered if they agree to complete QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support within 18 months of starting.

A full manual driving licence is needed, or the candidate must be in the process of obtaining one, along with a willingness to drive for work. The role requires availability for all shifts on a 24/7 roster.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, good English, computer literacy, personal integrity, trustworthiness, a positive attitude, and a willingness to keep learning are important. Experience with online care management systems would be an advantage. Applicants must also be legally entitled to work in Ireland.

Pay and benefits

The salary range is €34,100.68 to €39,625.68 per year, pro-rated and dependent on experience. Additional premiums are paid for unsocial hours.
