Role overview
This opening is for a permanent full-time Care Assistant (Disability Services) role based in Callan, County Kilkenny, within the HSE Dublin and South East region. The position is being advertised by the HSE on behalf of a publicly funded organisation and is not an HSE employment contract. Terms and conditions may therefore differ from standard HSE arrangements.

Role purpose
The person in this role will support adults to live meaningful, enjoyable and fulfilling lives, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and a person-centred approach. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the community and work in line with the values and ethos of L'Arche.
Working arrangement
This role requires flexibility across early shifts, evening duties, sleepovers and weekend work.
Requirements and suitability
- QQI Level 5 Certificate in Health Care, currently working towards it, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities.
- Experience using wheelchairs and other assistive equipment is an advantage.
- Strong verbal and written English skills.
- Good teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
- A person-centred attitude and the willingness to engage actively in community life.
- A full driving licence is preferred, though not essential.
- Only candidates who currently live in and are approved to work in Southern Ireland can be considered.
- Garda vetting will be required.
