Job description
Role overview
HSE Dublin and Midlands is recruiting for a Staff Grade Cardiac Physiologist to contribute to high-quality cardiac diagnostic services. The role focuses on carrying out non-invasive cardiac investigations and any additional duties appropriate to the post.
Location and panel information
A regional panel will be established from this campaign. It may be used to fill current and future permanent or specified-purpose vacancies on either full-time or part-time basis at the following sites:
- Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore
- Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise
- Regional Hospital Mullingar
- Naas General Hospital
A panel may also be created for this position to support future vacancies of the same type.
Eligibility and qualifications
Applicants must meet the qualification requirements by the closing date. Acceptable routes include one of the following:
- BSc in Clinical Measurement from the Dublin Institute of Technology.
- BSc in Clinical Measurement from Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin).
- An equivalent Level 8 scientific qualification recognised by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science (IICMS).
- Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from the Dublin Institute of Technology, or an equivalent scientific qualification recognised by IICMS and awarded in or before 2005.
In exceptional circumstances, where IICMS cannot validate pre-2005 qualifications, the eligibility panel may accept HSE employees currently working as Clinical Measurement Physiologists who were employed in or before 2005, provided they can show evidence of the qualification that was acceptable when they started employment.
Candidates must also demonstrate the knowledge, ability, professional standard and overall suitability needed to carry out the duties of the post effectively.
Applicants must be in good health, fully capable of performing the role, and able to provide regular and efficient service. Good character is also required.
