The Talbot Collection has been recognised as one of the Best Places to Work in Hospitality 2026 by Great Place to Work. The role is based in a workplace that values service, teamwork, and ongoing growth.

Role Purpose

The main aim of this role is to support the daily running of the hotel canteen, help create a positive mealtime experience for employees, and keep the area clean, safe, and hygienic.

You will also be expected to deliver warm, helpful service at all times in line with the Talbot Collection's “Empower Your Excellence” customer service approach.

Key Duties

  • Welcome employees in a friendly manner as they arrive in the canteen.
  • Set up breakfast, lunch, and dinner service as required.
  • Remove used dishes, clean tables, and keep the dining area neat and well organised.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in line with health regulations.
  • Follow correct food hygiene and safety practices at all times.
  • Support the receipt and storage of food and supply deliveries.
  • Work closely with kitchen colleagues and other team members to keep service running smoothly.
  • Carry out any additional tasks assigned by a supervisor or manager.

Requirements

Prior experience in hospitality or customer service is an advantage, although it is not essential.

Strong communication and people skills are important, along with the ability to juggle tasks efficiently in a busy environment.

Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are all key expectations.

Applicants should be willing to work weekends and public holidays when required.

Basic awareness of food safety and sanitation standards will be considered a plus.

Benefits

  • Recognition as part of one of the Best Places to Work in Hospitality 2026, according to Great Place to Work.
  • A culture that prioritises its people and team wellbeing.
  • Access to training and development support.
  • Opportunity to grow within a progressive and expanding organisation.
  • Contributory company pension scheme after 12 months of service.
  • Company life insurance cover.
  • Free parking.
  • Complimentary Talbot Fit membership.
  • Staff meals.
  • Friends and family discounted rates.
