Position Summary

GUESS?, LLC is looking for a Buyer to oversee the work of a buying department, category, or major program, depending on the size and complexity of the assignment. In this role, you will partner with the Senior Buyer/DMM to shape, carry out, and communicate a product strategy designed to meet or outperform financial targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Review product performance trends and historical results at the department or category level.
• Compile and analyze data to support seasonal planning and financial goal setting.
• Take part in pre-season meetings with buying and planning teams.
• Build assortment sheets, keep them current, and share updates with the relevant business partners.
• Contribute to line edit discussions and provide data support for assortment review decisions.
• Join product review sessions with cross-functional partners.
• Participate in bottoms-up planning meetings to define style quantities, assess buys against original plans at the style, class, and department levels, and set retail prices for all styles.
• Support management review meetings for bottoms-up plans and senior leadership line reviews.
• Help ensure the business meets or exceeds sales, gross margin, GMROI, and inventory turn objectives.
• Track sales results and market intelligence to spot trends and identify growth opportunities.
• Recommend assortment and strategy adjustments based on in-season findings and observations.
• Contribute to sales forecasts and OTB conversations by evaluating sales and inventory versus financial goals, and suggesting changes to order volume, deliveries, pricing, or markdowns.
• Build strong customer knowledge through store visits, product evaluation, and feedback gathered from customers and store associates.
• Participate in competitive shopping and analysis to assess assortments, quality, pricing, merchandising approaches, and business opportunities.
• Attend weekly cross-functional meetings and share updates on current business issues.
• Work with field teams to gather feedback on sales, fit, and related topics for leadership review.
• Support and coach peers, Associate Buyers, and Assistant Buyers through training, feedback, modeling, and development guidance.
• Collaborate effectively with Merchandising, Planning, Production, and Distribution teams to meet shared goals.

About the Team

The GUESS?, LLC Buying team manages assortment curation, purchasing, pricing, and inventory levels with the goal of improving profitability. The group works closely with leadership and offers exposure to experienced decision-makers. Success in this role requires both strong analytical capability and a creative eye, along with a genuine interest in fashion and product trends.

Location

This role is based at the corporate office in Los Angeles, California, at the LA World Headquarters.

Compensation and Benefits

The posted base salary range is $80,000 to $90,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, relevant experience, and background.
