With operations spanning multiple states and a longstanding reputation for quality, the company plays a significant role in supporting a national supply chain and serving customers across the United States.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Buyer for an immediate 3-month contract assignment supporting procurement and purchasing operations within a manufacturing and agricultural environment. This individual will be responsible for sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, supporting purchasing activities, and ensuring timely delivery of goods required to support operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing, sourcing, vendor management, and procurement processes within manufacturing, food production, agriculture, or related industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase materials, supplies, and services to support operational requirements.
  • Manage supplier relationships and maintain communication regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Evaluate vendor quotes and proposals to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Negotiate pricing and purchasing terms when appropriate.
  • Monitor purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier information.
  • Collaborate with operations, production, and supply chain teams to support purchasing needs.
  • Assist with inventory planning and procurement forecasting activities.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Prepare procurement-related reports and purchasing metrics.
  • Support additional supply chain and procurement projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles.
  • Experience within manufacturing, agriculture, food production, or related sectors is preferred.
  • Proficiency in vendor management and negotiation techniques.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems and ERP platforms.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to work autonomously in a dynamic setting.
  • Formal degree is not a mandatory requirement.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Background in the agricultural industry.
  • Involvement in procurement and sourcing activities.
  • Exposure to inventory management.
  • Experience with ERP or other procurement software.

Contract Details

This is a 3-month contract position with the possibility of extension. The role is based in Canby, OR 97013, and is expected to start as soon as possible.
