Role Overview
This part-time, on-site Butler position in Port Louis, Mauritius is focused on delivering refined, highly personalized guest service in a luxury environment. The role supports ultra-luxury hospitality standards and requires strong discretion, polished etiquette, and confident handling of VIP and high-profile guest needs.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in Butler or other guest-facing roles within a luxury setting.
- Fluent command of English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to converse in at least one additional language is mandatory; accepted languages include German, Portuguese, French, Italian, Spanish, Mandarin, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, and Arabic.
- A professional butler or luxury service qualification, such as The International Butler Academy, is required.
- Strong emotional intelligence, practical problem-solving ability, a working grasp of conflict resolution, and solid knowledge of food and beverage service.
- Thorough familiarity with ultra-luxury hospitality expectations and tailored guest service delivery.
- Advanced knowledge of formal dining manners, silver service, and presentation for in-suite fine dining.
- Deep awareness of the expectations of VIP, celebrity, and high-net-worth guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide highly personalized butler service by preparing guest suites and keeping them aligned with individual preferences and company standards.
- Understand and communicate all in-suite services, food and beverage offerings, etiquette standards, amenities, functions, and systems.
- Arrange and support in-suite service needs such as dining, amenities, housekeeping assistance, laundry, packing and unpacking, shoeshine, and other special requests.
- Keep guest history records accurate and ensure clear coordination with supervisors and other departments to support quick issue resolution.
- Help secure reservations for restaurants, spa visits, shore excursions, and private tours when needed.
- Keep suites, pantries, and assigned spaces clean, orderly, stocked, and compliant with public health requirements.
