Job description
Role overview
An established SME technology company in Cork is seeking a commercially minded Business Operations Manager to take ownership of a broad operational leadership position within its industrial automation business. This is a permanent opportunity for someone with a strong track record in operations, business unit leadership, or head-of-operations responsibilities.
The position is well suited to a hands-on manager who enjoys running a site or business unit with a high degree of independence. You will oversee the daily performance of the Cork operation and contribute to the company’s wider growth objectives.
Scope of the role
You will be responsible for the smooth running of the Cork business across operations, customer support, technical teams, and supply chain activity. The role also involves close collaboration with European sales leadership to improve business results, strengthen customer satisfaction, and support sustainable expansion.
This is a role for someone who can balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution, while also building team capability and encouraging continuous improvement in a technical SME setting.
Key requirements
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a technical, engineering, electronics, industrial automation, or manufacturing environment.
- Prior responsibility for business operations in an SME, business unit, or regional setting.
- Solid commercial and financial understanding, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and improve operational processes.
- Strong customer orientation, along with effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A practical, sleeves-up leadership style with the judgement to manage both strategic and operational priorities.
- Experience in industrial technology, automation, electronics, or a similar sector would be a clear advantage.
- A degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
Additional information
This is a permanent full-time position based in the Cork Metropolitan Area and is intended for an experienced professional who is looking for a broad, autonomous leadership challenge within a growing technical business.
