Job description

About the Role

Play N' Kick is a fast-growing soccer enrichment organization that works with schools, childcare providers, and community groups across the DMV region. The programs are designed to keep children active, build confidence, strengthen teamwork, and make physical activity enjoyable.

The company is looking for a highly organized and self-driven Business Operations Manager to keep the day-to-day business running smoothly, support the team, coordinate scheduling, and contribute to overall growth.

Role Summary

This position focuses on making sure the business functions efficiently behind the scenes. The manager will handle staff coordination, scheduling, administrative systems, customer support, partner communication, and operational processes. The right person should be a proactive problem solver who can take ownership, work with minimal supervision, and stay effective in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run daily operations and oversee core administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate coach schedules and staffing across several locations.
  • Serve as a communication point for schools, childcare centers, and community partners.
  • Track staff performance and resolve operational issues before they escalate.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training for new hires.
  • Build and refine workflows, systems, and standard operating procedures.
  • Keep program schedules, registrations, and staffing plans aligned.
  • Maintain internal communication among leadership, coaches, and office staff.
  • Monitor key operational data and share regular updates with ownership.
  • Address customer concerns and ensure issues are resolved quickly.
  • Spot bottlenecks in operations and implement practical fixes early.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should bring strong leadership and planning abilities, excellent written and verbal communication, and experience handling people, projects, or business operations. This role also requires independent judgment, strong attention to detail, and consistent follow-through. Comfort with Google Workspace, spreadsheets, project management tools, and communication software is important. Background in education, youth programs, sports operations, or small business management is helpful, though not mandatory.
