Role overview
This contract Business Intelligence Analyst position is based in Newark, NJ and focuses on turning data into practical guidance for marketing and product teams. The role supports decisions that strengthen customer retention, improve engagement, and contribute to long-term business growth. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to study customer behavior, assess performance, and shape strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and other business partners to produce insights that lead to clear action.
- Create, update, and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reports using SQL, Excel, Tableau, and similar analytics tools.
- Study customer engagement and retention patterns to uncover opportunities for growth.
- Measure the impact of marketing campaigns, product efforts, and customer lifecycle initiatives.
- Plan and evaluate A/B tests and convert the findings into practical recommendations.
- Prepare and manage competitive intelligence materials such as dashboards, presentations, and datasets.
- Share analytical findings with leadership and contribute to strategic planning discussions.
- Handle large datasets and build reporting and analytics solutions that can scale.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data science, or another analytical function is expected.
- Strong proficiency in SQL is required.
- Hands-on experience with visualization platforms such as Tableau is needed.
- Working knowledge of A/B testing, statistical analysis, and experimentation methods is important.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary, especially for explaining complex data in business-friendly terms.
Preferred background
- A master's degree in a related subject is preferred.
- 3 or more years of relevant experience would be an advantage.
- Experience supporting subscription-based businesses, growth marketing, customer retention, or engagement analytics is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage several priorities in a fast-paced setting are valuable.
- Experience creating scalable reporting frameworks and data pipelines is preferred.
