Job Description

Become an integral part of Westgate Resorts' financial operations and launch your career in data-driven strategic planning. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, also known as a Junior Tableau Developer, within the FP&A team, you will be instrumental in creating, maintaining, and improving reporting and analytics tools. These tools will empower various departments across the organization to gain deeper insights into financial performance and operational trends. This position is perfectly suited for an early-career analyst who possesses a strong enthusiasm for data visualization, a keen interest in understanding how data informs business decisions, and a desire to enhance technical and analytical proficiencies under the mentorship of seasoned BI and FP&A professionals.

What You Will Do

  • Provide support for the upkeep and enhancement of existing Tableau dashboards utilized by the FP&A team and business partners.
  • Contribute to the development of new Tableau visualizations and reports, adhering to defined requirements and best practices.
  • Assist in the validation of data accuracy and the resolution of any discrepancies found in reports.
  • Help ensure that dashboards are accurate, user-friendly, and effectively meet user requirements.
  • Compose and adjust SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data for reporting and analytical purposes, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Support ad-hoc financial and operational analyses in collaboration with FP&A and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Document data definitions, reporting logic, and dashboard usage to promote consistency and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand their reporting needs and assist in translating their questions into basic analytical outcomes.
  • Conduct data validation and quality assurance checks to guarantee the reliability of reports and analyses.
  • Learn and adhere to established BI standards, data governance protocols, and development workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Possess 1-2 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, financial analytics, or a closely related field (internships, co-op programs, or rotational programs are considered).
  • Demonstrate basic to intermediate proficiency with Tableau or comparable data visualization tools.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of SQL, with the ability to construct and interpret queries for reporting purposes.
  • Exhibit familiarity with relational databases or data warehouse environments.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Be able to clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Show a willingness to learn new tools, concepts, and business processes.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous exposure to Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), financial reporting, or operational analytics.
  • Experience working with platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, or similar.
  • Prior internship or early professional experience in a corporate analytics, BI, or finance setting.
  • An interest in the travel, hospitality, or financial services industries.
