Role Overview

Proofpoint is looking for a driven and energetic Business Development Representative to join its Marketing Business Development team. The main objective of this position is to create qualified opportunities for the sales organization through a combination of inbound lead follow-up and outbound prospecting.

The role involves working closely with regional sales and marketing groups to build sales accepted leads, identify and engage decision-makers, and develop account intelligence for assigned prospects. You will help shape and execute an account-based sales approach for the Korea market.

This position may be based in Korea or Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate inbound and outbound leads, qualify prospects, answer product questions, and continue nurturing them as needed.
  • Use research and planning to start meaningful conversations that help build new relationships and expand the lead pipeline.
  • Follow up on marketing-generated leads and turn early interest into sales accepted leads.
  • Run email outreach campaigns to generate new business opportunities.
  • Conduct cold calling campaigns to source and develop new prospects.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer and prospect interactions in Salesforce.com.
  • Arrange product demonstrations between the commercial sales team and prospective customers.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 3 years of business development experience in the technology industry, with cybersecurity experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to build new relationships through cold calling and email prospecting.
  • Experience performing well in a target-oriented environment is an advantage.
  • Self-driven, competitive, and detail-oriented.
  • Prior exposure to solutions deployed in private or public cloud environments is a plus.
  • Experience using Salesforce.com, Outreach, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator is beneficial.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including phone skills, along with solid organisational ability.
  • Fluent in both Korean and English.
