They are seeking an accomplished Business Development Manager with strong new business capability, disciplined outbound selling habits, and prior experience in an MSP or technology services setting.
What the role involves
- Identify, move forward, and convert new business opportunities from first contact through to close.
- Create pipeline through cold calling, outbound prospecting, networking, and focused account-based activity.
- Consistently secure at least 8 qualified meetings each month.
- Manage complex sales opportunities involving multiple stakeholders from start to finish.
- Sell managed services, Microsoft 365, Azure, on-premises infrastructure, and cyber security offerings.
- Partner with technical specialists to understand client requirements and design the most suitable solution.
- Deliver customer presentations that clearly explain service value, commercial benefits, and technical strengths.
- Assist with proposals, tender responses, and client-facing presentations.
- Keep CRM records accurate, maintain reliable forecasting, and ensure pipeline is easy to track and understand.
- Help refine target markets, value propositions, and how services are positioned in the market.
- Contribute to building a more repeatable and consistent sales engine across the business.
Experience and capabilities sought
The ideal candidate will bring proven B2B sales or business development experience gained within an MSP or technology services provider, with MSP background described as essential.
- Strong ability in cold calling and outbound prospecting.
- A history of creating self-generated pipeline and winning new customers.
- Experience selling managed IT services, Microsoft 365, Azure, infrastructure, cyber security, or outsourced IT support.
- Comfort and confidence selling recurring revenue or managed service offerings.
- Ability to lead consultative, solution-focused conversations with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Well-developed skills in discovery, qualification, presentation, negotiation, and closing.
- Commercially disciplined, resilient, and comfortable being measured against activity, pipeline, and revenue outcomes.
- A collaborative style and the ability to work effectively with technical and delivery teams.
Success measures
- Steady generation of qualified pipeline.
- Achievement of $80k MRR in new-logo revenue within 18 months.
- Better win rates and a higher average deal value.
