Role overview

The company is hiring a Business Development Team Lead to expand and oversee the West Coast marketplace, covering Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and newer markets in the region. This role combines hands-on partnership development with team leadership, and is best suited to someone who can build strong relationships, negotiate durable commercial deals, and help a high-performing BD function grow.

Although the organization works remotely first, the selected candidate must live in Los Angeles, San Diego, or San Francisco, or within a reasonable commuting distance of one of these cities.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and sustain long-term partnerships across the events and experiences space.
  • Take full ownership of assigned markets and/or verticals within the marketplace.
  • Source event producers, venue operators, and experiential creators to add fresh inventory to the platform.
  • Create exclusive content or ticketing partnerships tailored to the company.
  • Confidently present flat-fee media and marketing offerings to brand partners.
  • Learn different ticketing platforms and explain integration steps and partner workflows clearly.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and grow the West Coast business development team.
  • Share insights to strengthen lead generation and sales operations.
  • Act as a strategic partner to clients, supporting long-term success and retention.
  • Drive team accountability, performance, and coaching standards.
  • Set targets, monitor KPIs, and promote an ownership-oriented culture.
  • Contribute to regional strategy together with company leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, ticketing, media sales, or experiential marketing.
  • Strong knowledge of the West Coast live events market.
  • Demonstrated negotiation ability, including structuring mutually beneficial revenue-share agreements.
  • Prior experience managing and developing a team.
  • Comfort selling both performance-based ticket arrangements and flat-fee media packages.
  • Strong organizational habits and regular use of CRM tools.
  • Entrepreneurial approach with an ownership mindset.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and build trust quickly.
  • Balanced approach that is data-informed while remaining relationship-led.

Additional information

The company emphasizes a culture built around fun, collaboration, value creation, and mission alignment. It also states that it is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to maintaining a diverse and inclusive team.
