Role Overview
Innovee Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced Business Analyst for a long-term, onsite contract position in Austin, TX. This role involves acting as a strategic liaison, translating complex technical information into understandable terms, and driving data literacy across the organization. The Business Analyst will be instrumental in managing metadata, ensuring data quality, and supporting advanced analytics initiatives, including leveraging AI for data synthesis and prompt engineering.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic liaison, connecting EIM cataloging and lineage systems with source systems in IT.
- Automate the collection and updating of metadata for high-value data assets.
- Translate technical findings and data limitations into clear, non-technical language for end-users.
- Extract, integrate, and analyze metadata from diverse internal and external sources to meet program needs.
- Collaborate with end-users and performance analysts to create visualizations for enrichment progress and official reporting.
- Provide subject matter expertise on validating AI outputs, focusing on identifying and mitigating hallucinations.
- Ensure all data outputs comply with agency reporting standards, data governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Champion data glossary literacy through training sessions for non-technical staff.
- Develop comprehensive documentation and tutorials for using glossary tools for data synthesis.
- Promote a data-driven culture by empowering employees to effectively utilize metadata and AI.
- Troubleshoot metadata-related issues and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with data engineering, IT, and Program teams.
- Offer expert guidance to program staff on interpreting data trends and addressing complex data inquiries.
- Stay current with emerging AI and metadata analysis tools and techniques to enhance data glossaries, data quality, and reporting.
- Develop and refine AI prompts and query strategies for accurate metadata retrieval and synthesis from complex data domains.
- Guide non-technical users in crafting precise prompts for glossary data retrieval, ensuring fidelity and accuracy.
- Create a library of standardized prompts and query templates for common reporting needs.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in gathering business requirements and translating complex metadata acquisition and operational requirements into actionable data access paths and business glossaries for advanced analytics.
- Over 8 years of experience communicating technical findings, metadata insights, and data limitations to business users, stakeholders, and executive leadership in accessible, non-technical language.
- More than 8 years of experience in complex data analysis, senior business analysis, systems analysis, or data liaison roles supporting enterprise data and metadata management.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience utilizing SQL for data extraction, transformation, manipulation, validation, and enrichment to support analytics and metadata management.
- Over 8 years of experience collaborating with business users, performance analysts, and IT leadership to develop, validate, and maintain business glossaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation for analytics development.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience demonstrating strong communication, presentation, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and interpersonal skills across diverse business and technical teams.
- At least 5 years of experience working with Business Intelligence (BI), Data Warehouse, and analytics platforms to support enterprise reporting and decision-making.
- More than 5 years of experience serving as the primary point of contact for program staff and business stakeholders regarding metadata management, business glossary development, and analytics project requirements.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Health & Human Services (HHS), healthcare, or other highly regulated environments, with a solid understanding of agency metadata standards, compliance, and governance.
- Over 5 years of experience applying data governance, metadata governance, data stewardship, and data quality management principles to enhance data consistency, usability, and trustworthiness.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience using metadata and data glossary tools such as Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC), Informatica Axon Data Governance, or similar platforms.
- At least 2 years of experience promoting data literacy initiatives and fostering a culture of data awareness and governance.
- More than 2 years of experience training, mentoring, and coaching staff with varying levels of data literacy, metadata knowledge, and technical expertise.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience leveraging AI prompt engineering and development techniques for data governance, metadata management, analytics, and business process improvement.
Additional Information
An in-person interview will be required for this role. This is a long-term contract position.
