Where you'll work
Job description
Role overview
The New Hospital Programme is a major, once-in-a-generation initiative aimed at helping shape the future of healthcare in England. The programme is delivering more than 40 new hospitals designed to be modern, sustainable, and centred on the needs of both patients and staff. This role is suited to someone motivated by purpose, comfortable in complex environments, and keen to contribute to large-scale change for future generations.
NHS England brings together a broad range of statutory responsibilities and regulatory powers to support the wider NHS in delivering high-quality care and to carry out work best completed centrally for the whole health system. Its teams include expertise across clinical, operational, commissioning, technology, data science, cyber security, software engineering, education, and commercial areas.
In March 2025, the Government announced that NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care would increasingly combine functions, with the intention of NHS England becoming fully integrated into the department over time.
What you will do
You will join as an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in delivering analytical support within major programmes or similarly complex projects. The role will contribute to the rollout of digital solutions across the New Hospital Programme, working closely with the Senior Systems Manager.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will bring strong research and problem-solving skills, the judgement to turn analysis into practical recommendations, and confidence in working through assumptions with stakeholders. Experience in building dashboards and visualisations, especially using Power BI, is highly desirable. You should also be collaborative and able to operate effectively within a large, intricate programme environment.
Important notes
If you are currently employed in the NHS and are successful at interview, an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) will be started through the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system. This process can retrieve relevant information from your current or former NHS employer to help with onboarding, including competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement. You may choose to opt out at any point.
Employees with a contractual office base are expected to work from offices for at least 40% of their time on average.
Applicants joining from outside the NHS are generally appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this vacancy.
