Role overview
Largeton Group is looking for a Business Analyst to support a client project with Allianz Life in Golden Valley, Minnesota. This is a 12-month contract opportunity with a hybrid work arrangement, and only local candidates are being considered.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the connection point between business teams and IT partners to help drive strategic initiatives forward.
- Collect, interpret, and document both business and technical requirements.
- Perform data analysis tasks, including writing and running SQL queries.
- Review system architecture and suggest practical solutions.
- Organize and carry out software testing activities, including user acceptance testing.
- Support planning for API integrations with outside vendor platforms.
- Develop, update, and maintain user stories and acceptance criteria in tools such as Jira and Polarion.
- Help manage backlog priorities and take part in sprint planning sessions.
- Lead Agile meetings and ceremonies such as daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Use reporting and data visualization tools to help prepare the business for release readiness.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Oversee service-level agreements and track vendor delivery performance.
- Contribute to, or lead, projects focused on retiring legacy systems.
Preferred background
- 2 to 5 years of experience in life insurance, or 6 to 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial services.
- Exposure to digital, workflow, and CRM initiatives, especially Salesforce, is considered an advantage.
- Strong ability to facilitate discussions, guide teams, and coach others.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Solid problem-solving skills, flexibility, and sound critical thinking.
- Comfortable leading meetings and workshops, handling negotiation, and resolving conflict.
- Strong presentation, organization, time management, and prioritization abilities.
Qualifications
- 8 to 10 years of Business Analyst experience is required.
- Deep understanding of the financial services sector is essential.
- Experience working with external vendors and Agile delivery methods such as SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
- Strong analytical, project management, and leadership capabilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Business Analyst certification such as CBAP or BABOK is a plus.
