Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst for a long-term contract assignment in Brooklyn, NY. The position follows a hybrid schedule, with at least two onsite days each week.
What You Will Do
- Convert business goals into clear requirements for technical teams, including user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and feature summaries.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to make sure proposed solutions align with both customer and business needs.
- Work with stakeholders during product visioning and early concept development.
- Perform gap assessments and surface opportunities to improve processes.
- Create and maintain process maps, workflow documentation, and related business documents.
- Contribute to project management work such as planning, testing, and rollout support.
- Review and interpret data to help guide decisions and strategic planning.
- Take part in client conversations to gather requirements and support product adoption.
- Capture, validate, and document business and technical needs, then translate them into functional and technical design details.
- Act as a go-to resource for product feature clarification and internal advisory support.
- Help stakeholders define business objectives and value so the product backlog can be prioritized effectively.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst on legacy replacement and workflow development initiatives.
- Strong customer focus and a genuine interest in solving customer problems.
- Creative, proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Comfort working with multiple subject matter experts at the same time.
- Ability to produce clear, concise documentation.
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to stay effective in a fast-moving environment.
- Self-driven and motivated to deliver results.
- Excellent skills in communication, interpersonal interaction, analysis, problem solving, presentations, writing, and information gathering.
- Experience leading JAD sessions and one-on-one discussions, working independently on strategic topics, handling multiple complex tasks or projects, meeting deadlines, and performing well under pressure.
- Ability to define test scenarios and conditions, prepare test plans, and support UAT execution.
Preferred Background
- Experience in pension administration.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce configuration.
- Prior Scrum experience.
- Background as a Product Owner.
