Job description

About the Company

You’ll be joining a major purpose-driven organisation that provides vital health and community services across Australia. With a workforce of more than 10,000 people, the business is in the midst of a major technology uplift focused on modern systems, stronger infrastructure, and operational improvement at scale.

This is a fast-moving, high-impact environment for someone who enjoys refining processes, improving efficiency, and contributing to work that matters. The organisation operates across many services and locations, blending enterprise-level complexity with a mission-led culture where your work supports better outcomes for thousands of Australians.

About the Role

As a Business Analyst, you will work closely with the Senior Strategic Delivery Manager, project teams, and senior stakeholders to redesign and standardise essential operational processes across a large and complex organisation.

This position goes beyond typical requirements capture. You will assess how things work today, question existing approaches, and shape future-state operating models that are consistent, scalable, and practical. A key part of the role will be leading discovery workshops, identifying improvement opportunities, and helping teams adopt sustainable ways of working that create long-term value.

Success will depend on your ability to make complexity easier to understand, influence a wide range of stakeholders, and bring people together around a common direction. You’ll need to manage competing priorities, navigate different viewpoints, and help drive agreement to support meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map and evaluate current-state processes across important business areas, including detailed process analysis and documentation.
  • Create future-state operating models and business processes that are standardised, scalable, and focused on efficiency.
  • Run stakeholder workshops to test assumptions, remove bottlenecks, and support informed decision-making.
  • Spot opportunities to streamline, standardise, and continuously improve end-to-end workflows.
  • Carry out gap analysis and document business rules, exceptions, and operational needs.
  • Work with project teams to ensure solutions align with business goals and improve process flow and effectiveness.
  • Support change adoption by preparing process documents, user guides, training resources, and communication materials.

What You’ll Bring

You are an experienced Business Analyst who enjoys solving complex business challenges through process redesign, operational improvement, and structured thinking. You take a process-led approach, bringing clarity to uncertainty, questioning the status quo, and partnering with stakeholders to build efficient and sustainable ways of working.

You should be comfortable in a large and complex environment where stakeholder influence and alignment are essential. You’ll also need to be comfortable diving into how work is done today, identifying inefficiencies, and reshaping processes to improve speed, quality, and consistency.

  • Hands-on experience in business process improvement, process redesign, or Lean/continuous improvement settings.
  • Demonstrated capability in analysing current-state processes and designing efficient, scalable future-state operating models.
  • Strong workshop facilitation skills, including process mapping and cross-functional alignment sessions.
  • Ability to break down complexity, identify inefficiencies, and translate them into practical improvements.
  • Experience contributing to large transformation programs or technology-enabled change initiatives.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or continuous improvement exposure is strongly preferred, with Green or Black Belt considered highly desirable.
  • Experience in healthcare, workforce management, or rostering is an advantage, but not essential.

Additional Information

If you are unsure whether you meet every requirement, you are still encouraged to apply. The hiring team is open to discussing individual circumstances.
