Job description
Role overview
Barclays is looking for a Business Analyst to help evolve its digital environment, improve customer experience, and turn business needs into practical technology-enabled solutions. The role focuses on analysing processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting innovation through automation and data-led decision making.
This position is based in Pune and is part of a collaboration to hire professionals for Barclays. The role may be evaluated on core capabilities such as process optimisation, data analysis, and problem solving, along with role-specific experience in business analysis.
What you will do
- Study business challenges and customer requirements that need change within the organisation.
- Translate business needs into clear requirements and actionable solution plans.
- Work with stakeholders to make sure proposed solutions align with their expectations and business goals.
- Help prepare business cases that support investment decisions for new solutions.
- Carry out feasibility assessments to judge whether proposed solutions are practical and viable.
- Contribute to project progress reporting so delivery stays on schedule and within budget.
- Develop operational and process designs so solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
- Support change management efforts, including traceability tracking to ensure solutions are properly adopted and embedded.
- Monitor automation performance and identify opportunities to improve output, uptime, throughput, and return on investment.
- Use data and process insight to find inefficiencies, manual steps, and standardisation opportunities.
What you need
The ideal candidate should bring strong business analysis experience, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and converting business needs into results-focused outcomes. You should have a solid background in process improvement, standardisation, and identifying where manual work can be reduced through automation or digital tooling.
Experience with automation technologies is important, including workflow automation, robotics, BPM, document processing, AI-enabled automation, or low-code tools. You should also be comfortable developing business cases, ROI models, and value-realisation frameworks for automation initiatives.
Preferred strengths include Agile delivery experience, collaboration with product owners, engineers, and stakeholders, and working knowledge of analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, SQL, and advanced Excel. Experience in financial services or transaction banking is considered valuable, and familiarity with UiPath or similar RPA tools and Blueworks or equivalent process-mapping tools would be a plus.
The role calls for someone who can work independently, think proactively, and handle complex analysis across multiple sources to solve problems effectively.
Leadership and working expectations
This role is aligned to Assistant Vice President expectations. You may be expected to advise and influence decisions, contribute to policy, improve operational effectiveness, and collaborate across business areas. Depending on the final structure of the role, you may either lead a team or operate as an individual contributor managing collaborative assignments and cross-functional inputs.
You are also expected to help strengthen risk management, governance, and controls, while communicating complex information clearly and influencing stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
Values and culture
All colleagues are expected to reflect the company values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Stewardship. The role also expects the Barclays Mindset: Empower, Challenge, and Drive.
