Job description

Role overview

The Business Analyst role focuses on connecting business needs with technology delivery within the life insurance domain. This position centers on requirement analysis, solution definition, user acceptance testing support, and maintaining compliance with regulatory, product, and governance standards throughout the policy lifecycle. The ideal candidate should already have hands-on experience in Day 2 policy servicing feature development and testing, with exposure to mixed product categories.

Key responsibilities

  • Collect, interpret, and formalize business requirements for life insurance products and related processes.
  • Convert regulatory and product needs into clear functional and system-level specifications.
  • Work closely with Product, Actuarial, Technology, QA, and Operations teams to align delivery.
  • Prepare UAT scenarios and test cases, verify outcomes, and drive sign-off completion.
  • Assess the downstream effect of product changes, enhancements, and regulatory updates.
  • Review defects, assist in root-cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with the relevant teams.
  • Maintain strong governance by ensuring proper documentation and audit readiness.
  • Track project progress, provide timely status updates, and communicate execution milestones.
  • Support production releases and validate outcomes after deployment.
  • Assist with training-related coordination and ongoing management tasks.

Domain and functional knowledge

The role requires solid knowledge of life insurance offerings, including traditional plans, ULIPs, pension products, and annuities. Understanding of policy changes, surrender processing, maturity benefits, death benefits, and survival benefits is important, along with awareness of actuarial concepts that influence system calculations.

Tools and working methods

Experience with requirement documentation such as BRS and FRD is expected, as well as UAT planning and execution, defect analysis, and system validation. Familiarity with tools like Jira, Excel trackers, MS Word, and test management platforms such as Xray will be useful.

Additional requirements

The position calls for strong analytical thinking, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in parallel. A detail-focused approach and disciplined adherence to governance standards are essential.
