Role summary
This Business Analyst role focuses on converting business needs into precise functional requirements and system specifications, with a strong emphasis on in-house applications and interface environments. The position supports the Workday Finance program by improving requirement quality, preparing for integrations, and maintaining traceability from early definition through testing and deployment.
What you will do
- Work with stakeholders to capture, clarify, and document business goals, impacts, and detailed user requirements.
- Engage business teams early so solution designs reflect the right needs and the most important features are prioritized correctly.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to define desired outcomes and track requirements through delivery until those outcomes are met.
- Assist with UAT activities, including test planning, test case preparation, and analysis of defects.
- Contribute to sprint planning by helping set business priorities and goals.
- Coordinate with business owners and cross-functional teams to ensure requirements align with overall strategy.
- Work closely with vendors and developers to support high-quality deliverables.
- Investigate application requests and issues together with Corporate IT teams and vendors.
- Support the design, rollout, and improvement of internal systems.
- Identify system gaps and help improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Assist with data migration and implementation tasks while reducing operational disruption.
- Maintain clear records of configurations, workflows, and governance-related procedures.
- Prepare user guides and operational manuals for end users.
Experience and qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or another related field is required.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst is preferred, ideally in the insurance sector.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and reporting tools such as SSRS and Power BI.
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems and Workday Finance is important for this role.
- Understanding of general insurance products, basic accounting concepts, and operational workflows.
- Sound knowledge of the system development life cycle and quality assurance practices.
- Ability to work effectively with internal teams and application vendors.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
