Role overview
For the Weser-Ems Busverkehr GmbH, a bus driver is sought for the Jever or Wilhelmshaven area and nearby routes, with the start date available as soon as possible. The role offers varied day-to-day work close to home, focused on safe and comfortable travel for passengers and staying calm when situations become challenging. Candidates who are new to driving or unfamiliar with the routes will receive enough time for training and onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Operate buses safely and on schedule in regular public service and school transport.
- Provide passengers with route, fare, and, where relevant, transfer information.
- Handle the sale and checking of tickets.
- Inspect the bus before use, including its technical systems and roadworthiness.
- Keep the vehicle tidy and clean before and after trips.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training as a professional driver or a valid bus driving licence in category D or DE.
- Valid qualification under the German Professional Driver Qualification Act, shown by the key number 95 in the licence or a driver qualification certificate.
- Strong German language skills, both spoken and written.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- A customer-focused attitude, flexibility, and reliability.
Equal opportunity and inclusion
The employer places strong importance on equal access for applicants with the same qualifications and actively supports diversity and collaboration across teams. Applications are welcomed regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic or social background, religion, worldview, disability, age, length of unemployment, sexual orientation, or identity. Applicants with severe disabilities and those treated equally under the law are given preference when qualifications are comparable.
Benefits
- Access to discounted shopping through employee offers, including mobile contracts, insurance, and reduced prices with hotel chains, fashion, and lifestyle brands.
- Work locations are spread across all federal states, including both major cities and smaller towns and communities, so the job is usually close to where you live.
- A permanent employment contract offers long-term stability within a future-oriented company group.
